ARINC818 is a specification which has become an Industry standard for the transmission of uncompressed digital video.
This commercial standard uses Fibre Channel as a point-to-point communications link for low latency with the ARINC818 defining the packetized protocol for transmission of the digital video information. It is highly flexible and can be used for a variety of on board display systems in both commercial and military applications.
AIM's ARINC818 Test & Simulation modules use the revolutionary ‘Common Core’ design giving the best performance, best feature set and highest functional integration on the market, using single or multiple Dual Core RISC processors, massive memory and IRIG-B time encoder/ decoder functions as standard. The ARINC818 modules are available in PCI/ PCI-X and PCIe formats.
ARINC818 analyzer capabilities are available concurrently operating with Fibre Channel Layer 2 capabilities providing comprehensive ARINC818 test and analysis feature sets:
• Software configurable refresh rates
• One time or cyclic pictures or picture sequences
• Re-load pictures ‘On the fly’
• Receiver modes: ULP, Layer 2 and unique TAP Mode
Each module is supplied with a Board Support Package (BSP) containing all on-board software, a high level Application Programming Interface (API) supporting Windows, LinuxOS and others on request. LabView VIs are also available. AIM’s powerful Databus Test and Analysis software PBA.pro is optionally available for AIM’s ARINC818 modules.
The powerful PBA.proTM Databus Test and Analysis software using a modular, scalable and integrated approach is available for use with AIM's ARINC818 test and simulation modules and other AIM avionics databus/network interfaces.
A dedicated PBA.proTM component for the Simulation, Capture and Testing of ARINC818 Digital Video based equipment and systems is now available.
